United States and Canada Border Crossing Information
U.S. CITIZENS ENTERING AND RETURNING TO THE UNITED STATES

U.S. citizens returning to the United States ARE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE A PASSPORT OR PASSPORT CARD AT THE IMMIGRATION CHECKPOINT. If you are a U.S. citizen living in the U.S. and cross the border to Canada and attempt to re-enter the U.S. you will need one of the above listed forms of identification. Effective June 1st 2009.

NON-U.S. CITIZENS ENTERING AND LEAVING CANADA

Non-U.S. citizens traveling to and from Canada must contact the Canadian consulate, high commission or embassy for information before you leave your home country. Find out what documents you will need to enter Canada, as well, check to see if there are any recent changes in Canadian immigration policies. You should determine whether or not you require a temporary visa and the cost if applicable.
